Margaret E. Murray is a printmaker and photographer living in San Francisco.  An artist in residence at KALA Art Institute in Berkeley, California since 2023, she has also been awarded The Arctic Circle, Artica, and In Cahoots artists’ residencies.  Her work is exhibited nationally.
Murray holds a BA in semiotics from Brown University and a JD from the University of California Hastings College of the Law (now UC Law SF).  She learned film photography from Time-Life books and an older brother who was unable to shoo her out of his darkroom.  As for printmaking, pressing ink into paper is a thrill hard-wired into her by her great-grandfather, a Scottish letterpress man.
